Our Business

Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW - Central West Inc (RFCS-CW) was established in 2006 when the service applied for and successfully received funding through the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture (DA) under the Rural Financial Counselling Program.

Rural Financial Counselling

In April 2016 RFCS-CW was successful in obtaining a further 5.25 years Deed of Grant funding contract to provide Rural Financial Counselling across an enlarged service area known as the RFCS NSW Central Region, which covers approximately 52% of NSW. The area spans from Cowra to the Blue Mountains, north to Lightning Ridge and the Queensland border including Local Government Areas of Bourke and Brewarrina, before heading northwest to Cameron Corner.

Over the past 13 years our services has helped thousands of farmers and rural small businesses throughout this region to move positively toward viability or transition via their succession plan.

RFCSCR will continue this great work through our management team and cohort of dedicated Rural Financial Counsellors who provide free & confidential rural financial counselling from our main office sites in Dubbo, Forbes,  Bourke, Nyngan, Mudgee, Broken Hill and Walgett and additional sites in Gilgandra, Coonabarabran, Bathurst, Parkes, Tooenham and West Wyalong.

Small Business Financial Counselling

Additional to the above program, in late 2019 the Federal Government made a commitment to further support small business (not just farming enterprises and rural businesses) within drought affected communities of NSW via the Small Business Financial Counselling program.

Support under this program is provided via a dedicated team of Small Business Advisors who will work with small business owners to achieve their business aims and objectives, improve their financial capacity and assist them in developing a structured plan which will identify the critical steps the business will be required to undertake on its journey to achieving its business goals, whether that be to start a new business, expand, restructure for growth, enter new markets or recover from the current drought.

To facilitate the delivery of RFCS services within the RFCS NSW Central Region the registered trading name of Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW Central Region (RFCSCR) was established under the ABN: 54 606 039 416.
